Sushi Tokami

Had birthday lunch here on a weekday. Ordered special lunch menu. The service was nice and the food was great. I liked the recommendation of the sake a lot. I am not a pro in sushi or sashimi but can tell the ingredients were really fresh and the seasonings were a brilliant touch to bring best out of each ingredient. The pictures were some of my favourites. Will come again.

For ~$1400ish, the quality of sushi was very good. Medium saltiness and acidity of shari, tuna (137kg from Hokkaido) was sourced from Yamayuki which never disappoints.

Jan 14, 2024 I thoroughly enjoyed my sushi experience here on this day. Expect a lovely atmosphere while you’re brought to your seat after you enter! The waiters were immensely helpful and attentive, always refilling my tea. Had to get up for the toilet twice because of the endless supply! The chefs handling the preparations were professional, and very accommodating. I forgot to ask for the name, but thank you for the experience, Chef! (If you’re reading this.) The range of food listed in the menu for the night were spectacularly cooked/prepared. The seafood were very fresh, and each item’s sweetness and texture were respected. Honorable mention is the Monkfish Liver. People say Uni is the butter of the sea. Well, I’ll say that Sushi Tokami’s Monkfish Liver dish tastes more like the butter of the sea, while their Uni, tastes like sea cream. I highly recommend this restaurant. Friendly staff, amazing food, wonderful experience. 10/10

My favourite Sushi place in Hong Kong. Try to go there once every time I am in HongKong. Sushi Chef is super friendly and also the staff are doing an excellent job. They offer different menus at lunch, the higher priced ones typically have Uni included. Fish is super fresh and the taste is fantastic. The tuna roll at the end is an absolute highlight. Will come again next time I am in HongKong.

One of the excellent quality sushi restaurants in Hong Kong. Pricy but I’ll still opt for the $1200/16pcs lunch set Update (Oct’2022): price for lunch has gone up to $1300/16pcs but I’m glad that it has maintained its standard and quality!

The style of course is similar to that was served in Tokyo, such as three pieces of high-quality tuna delivery and Tossaki from Yamayuki and some dishes . The water they use may be good, so the rice is delicious. The cost is 2500 HKD per person for the omakase set and drinks. For this price in Hong Kong, it's quite reasonable.

Compared to other ‘acclaimed’ top sushiya in HK, sushi Tokami is one of the most reliable spots to dine at. You can tell the ingredients are extremely fresh. That day I ordered the set of 16 pieces of sushi for $1200. First came the seaweed and kegani (crab) appetizer, a very refreshing dish to start the meal. Then came several white fish sushi and three types of tuna, I especially loved the otoro (the fattiest part). My favourites were the squid and white shrimp as they had a very chewy and collagen-like texture, which was stunning. The sardine was also the highlight, fatty and full of flavour. As summer is sea urchin season, I had high expectation for the quality of the sea urchin that will be served towards the end, and I was not disappointed at all. I was given a genrous portion and the uni was incredibly sweet and fresh. I also have to mention how great the anago (sea eel) was, it was very tender and immediately melts in your mouth. All in all, a great experience at sushi Tokami, the head chef and the staffs were accommodating. Will definitely visit again soon.
